Lets Think Better

On the "National Day of Evangelical and Protestant Churches" in Santiago, Chile, several people were injured. Many people who marched peacefully were wounded and violently, 19 were arrested by police. The "Social Patriot Movement" claimed the march and other extremist groups such as "anti-fascist brigades" (movement of revolutionary capitalism) cited a "counter-march" and this would have been the origin of the riots. None of these groups or political movement represents the "March for Jesus".

These protesters threw small bombs loaded with coins in the form of fragments, paint bombs and other objects against a pillar of the faithful while shouting libertarian slogans and insults against people. Both groups explain that they announced the participation in the march but never warned the organizers of the event.

On top of that, the mobilization was also attended by supporters of the Social Patriot Movement, a nationalist group that has tried to promote the death penalty and which won the canvases left in September at emblematic high schools, with macho and homophobic phrases.

According to police information, these events would have originated after counter-demonstrators tried to stop the march, in which people moved with canvases against gender identity and abortion.

"For a generation that knows God", is one of the mottos of the mobilization at the national level promoted by evangelical groups, which in the capital ended with riots and wounded policemen.

What pops to my head is that if there were no slogans against the abortion or gender ideology, maybe there would be no violence. But at the same time, I know that it's almost the only opportunity when there is a public manifestation of the values of the Church.

I think it's time to think better about doing these marches where the motivation is "Exalt the Name of the Lord Jesus, mark the presence of the Evangelical Church of Chile, Unite the Church in the pursuit of a common goal and take possession of the Church land that God has given. "

Why not better pray for the people in the city and manifest the power and unconditional love of Jesus? Why not better intercede for the leaders of our nations, to govern inspired by the word of God? Why not better to repent and regret our inconsistency and lack of love. I truly ask myself if showing our values in confrontational posters is a smart way to manifest our beliefs in a March that has Gods footprint.

We always wonder what Jesus would have done. He is so creative and bold, that I really don't know what I could expect.

Would he walk into the streets, saying that the Kingdom of God has arrived?
How does that look like? I ask myself. How would the Kingdom of God look in the streets? I pursue that the next March of Jesus is an expression that the Kingdom of God has arrived. For sure it would be a celebration, a manifestation of love, signs, and wonders.
